Default 2009 Lexus Ls460 Parking Brake Problem

Recently I just replaced my battery after it wasn't able to start and then "check parking brake" came on. Whenever I would try to use the manual parking brake button or hold brake, then a sound would come on and that would pop up. However, the AUTO parking brake would always work when I put it in park and the parking break would engage no problem. I pulled some codes from it with my scanner.

I took it to a shop to get it diagnosed (who has techstream), and they told me that the "parking break module is probably dead and needs to be replaced, and they pulled out the button and put it back in. Though, when I went to start my car, the parking brake now wasn't engaged at all, and the brake light kept flashing. When I tried to turn auto on like I did before it didn't engage the brake and the auto light on the button itself didn't come on
Either. When I tried to engage the manual parking brake button, it didn't make a beeping sound or pop up with the error anymore. It only happened when I pressed the hold button on the steering wheel. I asked the shop and they pretty much told me IDK. They didn't even open up techstream either.

Does anybody know what is going on and/or what I should do?

Just assuming you didn't have any issues when you replaced the battery with a new fully charged one and the shop didn't screw something else up and it was working previously....the first thing I would try is disconnecting the negative battery cable and let it sit for awhile then re connect the cable and turn the ignition on without starting the car to let the nav setup and go through the self tests. Then start the car and see what it does.

I suppose it's possible it might need to be re initialized but I've replaced my batt once and had it disconnected quite a few times over the years and replaced at least 100's of customer batteries that never caused any issue other than losing presets etc so when I read about changing a battery and things stop working it makes me think there's more to the story.

No I didn't have any problems with replacing the battery. Though, I do have an assumption that the shop messed something up, because when I was talking to their techs about what they did during diagnostics, they didn't touch anything with techstream or their tools except for running codes, and I do have a feeling they messed something up because one of the buttons that light up regardless if the e brake is working, doesn't even light up, and that has nothing to do with the parking brake module, and that's the button they removed.

I was also thinking that it needs to be re-initalized, in which I asked them to do, but they didn't do it. I also think it to be the case because my Lexus Ls460 has quite the handful with electronics. So I'll definitely try to initialize it first.
