Default Parking brake

Can anyone tell me if its best to leave the parking brake in the auto mode on my 2016 rx350?

That is how I leave it. I have also been trying to get used to the Hold feature (it is growing on me).

My old 2009LS had hold. I didn't use it all the time but I did like it from time to time, esp in traffic

So far, I have only tried it at stop lights. I grew up in So Cal, so I know the kind of traffic you speak of, but I moved North in the early 90's and don't live that anymore (just the occasional trip tomSilicon Valley.

In the manual it is suggested not to use it during the winter months in case the e-brake freezes and you may get stuck.

But I don't see this as an issue in SoCal.
