If indeed we go to a Gas with 15% ethanol the 1st of May will that hurt my 1990 Ford Bronco II which has the only engine that was offered by Ford a 2.9 fuel injection 6 cylinder. I usually just run 87 octane so will I need to run a higher octane to make up for the extra 5 percent alcohol if it causes a problem? I run premium in the LS so I am guessing it will be fine. Thanks for the help.

How Much Ethanol Is In 87, 89, 91, And 93 Octane Gas? has some answers on this. Note the generalization that those cars build after 2002 are suitable to use Ethanol fuel but not the O.P. 1990 vintage Bronco.

 

I believe there is already 10 precent ethanol in all the current fuel grades you listed. The Bronco has run on 10 percent ethanol for years. The question is will 15 percent hurt it?
