TPMS for 2014 Lexus LS 460
Hi All,
Having issues with the TPMS. Costco told me only one is out. (Front Passenger, not that it matters). The dash shows -- for all. I was told that one going out could cause none to show.
1. Is that accurate?
2. Costco also told me that I have to get this done at the dealer for programming as well. Is that accurate?
What are my options? I dealers selling the actual part for $70/ unit. how much should it cost to get them installed and programmed.
TIA for your help!

If one of the sensors is out and you continue to operate the car, the system will default to a warning to take the car to a dealer for service.
There are 5 sensors, four rollers and a spare in the trunk. If you are going to replace all sensors then it is five.
Nearly any major tire dealer should be able to replace the sensors and program the car. That includes Costco (if the store is a tire seller), Walmart/Sam's Club, Discount Tire, Toyota dealerships and many others. The Lexus dealer will probably be the most expensive option. Cost would vary but I would guess all five for less than $250. Sensors are typically $35 on Amazon. It is not usually a do-it-yourself project and it is best to let whoever is going to do the work to supply the sensors. The OEM sensor for your car, a 2014 LS460, is a Denso 550-0105.

Costco installed the OEM sensors I purchased from a Lexus dealer’s online store. I knew they couldn’t program them into the car so I used Carista. You do need to write down the sensor codes before handing them over as you need them for Carista to do its thing. If you replace the sensors when getting new tires at Costco there is no charge for them to install the sensors. I have never seen anyone have success using unofficial Techstream versions to program TPMS on this car. My Techstream was able to program TPMS on my Toyota, but just couldn’t be done with the Lexus.

This is the OE Denso sensor I am asking my local shop to install. Note different terminology for "cloning", "programming" and "relearning" requirements for various sensor brands.
Relearning will be required but that sensor won’t be programmable or clonable. Funny thing is the sensor isn’t even made by Denso. When you take it out of the box it will say Pacific Industries on it.
