Default 2011 LS460 Purchase Advise

Hello I’m looking for some input on a 460 I’m considering buying. It’s a 2011 LS460 AWD. Vehicle has immaculate service record, 2 owners, no accidents, but has 180k miles. My gut says mileage is too high, but I also know if maintained these vehicles run for 300k+. Any advice would be appreciated, they are asking for 11k. I have attached a few pics of the car in question. Thanks in advance!!

Man, allow me my humble opinion...
I learned, kinda the hard way that unfortunately high mileage in North America is usually not a good idea, not because the people don't mantain their cars, but because they mantain only based on a service light, or the service schedule, or maybe once a year, so the big issue with this cars, other than the weak points that you probably researched already, is the engine consuming or burning oil, I believe Lexus maintenance is around 8k miles which is waaaay too long interval oil change for this engine, and they kinda normally use a bit of oil, but it exarcebates the issue given that 07-12 was some bad years for toyota engines in general. My LS is 07 and I bought with 155k and it was severely neglected with a stellar maintenance record.
After spending a few months with my LS which I love the design, the interior, the smell of pure leather, the comfort, the power. There's way too many weak points: like the weak suspension, melting interior parts and trunk button, weak amplifier, seat controls, high pressure fuel pump, oil burning and I probably forgot something else. I didn't get all those issues with mine but got a few of those, my dash and interior still good as I live up north.
If I could go back I'd have to have maybe paid a bit more and bought a 2016+ S-Class.
It's an S-Class like maintenance and issues without the S-Class quality.
Hope my point of view help you to take a sound decision.

While I agree that a working S-class is probably the nicer car, most 14 year old versions are a maintenance and repair nightmare. The Lexus ain't cheap to keep but it's a lot better than the Merc!

Default MB S-KLASS Better than Lexus LS460

Pal, I'm 76 years old and Used to only buy European Vehicles, i.e. Audi (1), BMW (328 & a 540), Porsche (2 911s), Volvo (4 - 2 240s, 1 74, and a 760.),Mercedes Benz ( 2- E320s, 2 - 190s, and a E500 , which I traded on my Lexus LS460.
I work in the Car Parts Industry. I can attest that M-B quality has been declining, as new models are introduced each year. My E500 had an air suspension. One day I walked out to my Benz and the Left front fender was down on it's bump-stop. But after paying out Over $2400.00, I had a new shock, and everything was right in the World; until around 6 months later, when I walked out to my car, and the front fender was back down on its bump-stop. Luckily, when I started the car the air suspension pumped the offending airshow back up.

I went into the house and told my Wife "We're going to trade cars today!" I was just getting tired of the poor reliability of the cars I'd been buying for decades. The Most reliable brands I've ever owned were the 2 Porsches (Never Broke) and the 240s and the 740 that never broke either. As for the M-Bs, my mid-90s E320s were the best, But, the newer the car, the less reliable cars kept pouring into America.
As for my LS460 that I bought used, it had Every Lexus recommended service until I bought it. The Only issue that I've had is that the glass in the passenger side outside mirror Cracked, because it wanted to. And That's it.
I can assure you that had you bought that '16 S-Klass and kept it until today, that that car would have cost you $Thousands on maintenance and repairs.

Bought 12 460l AWD with all options but executive seat (still have reclining and massage) with 234k miles in 2021 for 12k. Now at 287 k with no major repairs, just maintenance. Mine was exclusively serviced at dealer every 3 months it's whole life. A solid maintenance record is priceless! Check out this post for more details...
