Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone's run into something like this before with their LS460 (mine's a 2013 model).
Basically, there’s a weird intermittent issue with a group of buttons inside the car — specifically:
The three buttons in the center console that control the rear sunshades (left, right, rear)
The parking sensor button
The switch that controls the side mirrors (fold/unfold/auto) (interesting thing when I first had this issue come up, and my side mirrors were closed and wouldnt unfold -- had to manually flip em open)
The strange part is, it’s either all of them work perfectly or none of them do — no in-between. From what I’ve noticed, it usually happens after the car has been sitting overnight. Sometimes it works fine after a second restart (like if I turn the car off for a few hours and come back), but that’s not always guaranteed.
When the issue is active:
The buttons are totally unresponsive
The parking sensor button’s light just blinks randomly
I can still control the rear shades from the back seat controls
If I press the window switch for the rear windows, the shade still goes down along with the window — so the motors are working
Because of that, I’m pretty sure it’s not a mechanical problem — looks more like an electrical or control module issue. Maybe something like a bad ground, a flaky relay, or a BCM fault?
If anyone’s had similar symptoms or knows what to check first, I’d really appreciate the help. Would love to avoid tearing apart half the dash chasing wires blindly. Thanks in advance
UPDATE:
On an added note, as another poster commented, cabin temperature seems to play a role - problem goes away when the cabin is warm.
Legend: RED = Not working at all when issue is active YELLOW = Button isn't working (but the actual feature is still working tho if I had it on by default) GREEN = Working as intended even when issue is active
UPDATED: FIXED Replaced the mirror switch assembly (I bought a used one from beforward as I'm on RHD) and it resolved all the issues above.

Reason: Added links to symptoms
Having the exact same problem with my LS460 2013, except a “check headlight system” message pops with the buttons being unresponsive, been searching for a solution online for a while, would really appreciate any help or advice.
I’ve also noticed that the problem disappears when turning on the car while the weather out side is hot, don’t have a clue why, but it’s something I’ve noticed.

Yeah exactly the same - it disappears when weather outside is hot too. I think we've got the same issue here mate. Are you based in the middle east / south east asia as well?
Also, when the problem is active -- I can't even open the boot (rear trunk). I was worried since the gashole (fuel port) button is right next to the trunk button.

It is likely water intrusion. Did you check for error codes?
Recently serviced, informed the autoshop about the issue but they couldn't find anything within the time given (I needed the car asap at the time) - not surprised it would take a while to really get a deep dive once they pry things open.

Curious, have you had your battery replaced recently? I remember it was not too long ago I replaced my battery and this started happening.

I’ve also checked the three fuse boxes recently, and there were no problem with any of them, a technician advised checking some connectors behind the dash, and a couple of lexus specialized technicians before him said they never seen a similar problem.

Good to know thanks! I'll keep you posted once I send mine to the autoshop. In the meantime, I’ve uploaded two video links and an image—just wanted to check if these are the same controls you're having issues with too.
