I have 07 ls460. My trunk won’t close 1 night in the mall parking lot. I pressed the button by the driver seat few times and while the latch was in cycle I pressed the top to lock it. After that any of the buttons didn’t work.after that I used the key to unlock it manually once. But now that won’t work either. It releases the trunk slightly when used the manual key. But still locked in. First I checked the button in the glove compartment and it was in so I believe that was the initial reason not to lock. I pushed it out and hoped for it to clear but no luck. I checked the code and B2250 is coming up in system for latch. Now before I try to get in thru the back seat pocket. Is there any other way to unlock it.? Any guidance is appreciated. Try lifting the trunk lid forcefully while you operate the manual key. The lid “lift-cylinder” may be bad. Very cold weather makes bad lift-cylinders worse.

 

Yes sir. I tried doing that but it seems to hooked. I was wondering if I can use the tech stream to maybe reset it or perform test and open it. Any insight will be highly appreciated thanks

 

I don't know where the inside release is on a 07 but on a 13 you can reach the release lever with a broom handle or equivalent through the access hole in the back seat, you could try disconnecting the battery and trying the manual key again but I don't know if that will work.
Most people end up replacing the assy.

 

I had a baby seat strap caught in mine. The only place open with mechanics on site was a dealership, they managed to pry the trunk up enough to free the strap, trunk still didn't work until they reset the code. Later I checked the trunk as it was previously sticking a bit anyhow. I found and cleaned off the black soot around the edges, then used silicone lubricant on the cleaned area and on the bottom rubber - works much better than earlier in the winter.
Btw dealership took two hours only charged for one.

 

I've used techstream to release my trunk latch in my 08 Ls600h. There is an option to release the trunk lock or something along those lines.

On a 460 disconnecting the 12v battery and reconnecting will sometimes let the trunk open 1 time.

 

thank you for your time and suggestions. I had done everything possible to unlock trunk latch but no luck so far. Have disconnected the battery for 30 mins. Everything got reset except that latch. I have used the broom stick to open it but that also unlocks it slightly which I can do with my manual key. Anything else before I find someone who can go thru the middle of the back seat into the trunk space.

 

these are the options I’m getting in tech stream. I tried the latch release option but it actually locks it all the way when I keep it open slightly from manual key. Doesn’t open it for some reason. All other functions work fine. Please advise if anyone has faced the same problem. Thank you in advance.
