Well I was wrong. It is not fixed and I believe it is the recirculation door that is not opening. Will need to plug in Carista and see what type of codes the climate control system is throwing.
Dennis
Look up the "blend door" issue. This is caused by someone changing the cabin air filter or forcing the door open without putting it in recirculation mode. It's a little hook that comes off and can be a DIY fix if it's not broken, it requires the glove box to come off to fix it, once there it's a 2 second fix.... just getting to there is a PIA...
ok hooked up techstream and got the 3 solar sensors codes again as I was in the garage. However I did get a 1442 code which is Servo motor. So where is the servo motor located and if you know what is the part number.
This pdf is for different Lexus models than yours but the individual dtc's will be the same, 1442 is the air inlet servo/ f When you said you "put it on recirculate and opened the door" you meant it opened by itself right?
Page 2-3 on the pdf will describe the code and show the flow chart, if you have an active subscription you can download the file to flash the ac amplifier. Miket000 replaced his and said it fixed the problem for him so if you can see the servo operating the door when using the fresh/recirc switch it might be that. Did the initialization work or not?
No I thought it opened itself because after setting it to recirculate and leaving the auto button lit I turned off the car waited a minute and started the car. The Auto light and the recirculate light and the temp at 73 all came back on as I had left them when I turned the car off.
With that I thought it was fixed. I never reopened the door to double check if the door was up or down. As it turned out it was indeed broken.
The lube lizard that changed your oil is probably responsible for the damage, the cabin filter is a nice little upsell that most people won't question and not all models have the servo controlled doors. Unfortunately whether or not it was checked or changed the damage wouldn't have been reported to the service manager or advisor.
Does anyone have any ideals on about how much this will cost me to fix? We have the house on the market to sell and will be moving to Virigina. Not to be closer to family but trying to cut down on the shipping cost for soft shell crab when in season. No really I am 75 and don't want Linda dealing with selling the house and moving closer to the son when I am gone.

I've never had that problem on my car so I don't know, that 1442 code is for an air inlet actuator/servo and there are 2 or 3 of them listed for the front HVAC and a few more if you have the rear heat/ac. You can get the parts numbers from the link and just scroll down to select front or rear, your price will be less in the USA.
There have been a few people that had the servo/s replaced but I can't find any price on this job, if it's the front that's not too bad to do yourself if you like to do your own repairs...I've been in there to run some wires for cameras and sub power cables but you would need to know the correct actuator because they are numbered and I'm a little sceptical that it's the recirc servo because you can turn recirc on or off and everything still works normally. I think it's going to be the air mix on the side the arrow is pointing in the picture, I've read that dealers like to change all the servos to guarantee success. Good luck
OK Dennis, a couple things. Somehow I missed this thread back in January, I must have been taking a nap.
The title of your thread is "The wife is complaining", and now 10 months later you say, "Thinking about fixing". Need I tell an old guy like you the path to marital happiness?! Get the damn thing fixed.
Your post stating "Getting old is not for sissies enjoy every opportunity you have to drive your LS." is absolutely spot on. I'm a couple years older than you and I drive the crap out of my LS and my Ferraris. Like Shaboozey says, I can't take my problems when I'm gone.
And finally, while it is great that you are concerned about your wife when you're gone (without me my wife would have to hire everyone to anything around the house), you ain't going anywhere soon. You know what MacArthur said about old soldiers.
Besides, it's been a plaesure reading your posts all these years!
I have been placating the wife of 57 years for over a year now with various forms of bling but it has apparently reached the saturation point where it's not meeting her needs. It was not so kindly presented to me last week that she wants her @#^&*&^ car fixed. So being the good husband of 57 years I scheduled a appointment with Lexus of Tulsa for tomorrow. I will be up by 5AM to depart by 5:45 to make a 8:20 appointment in Tulsa where I am sure I will depart with $1500 of non bling related cash. But the Dear Wife will be happy. I will report back with what the issue and cost were. The bright side of this is that there is a Costco about 6 miles from Lexus where I can get a $1.50 hotdog and coke.
