I had a couple cylinders throw permanent codes the first time I started my 14 LS460 after a 3 month hibernation..
I think it was just a matter of the car sitting for long/battery being low, which I think pissed some things off. car runs and drives fine when running. Probably drove it 70 miles since bringing it back into
operation.
I cleared the codes and the initials havent come back... how long does it take for the "permanent" ones to clear? Depending on the reading I've done this can take up to like 50? cyclings etc. I honestly think what set this off is the car sat for 3 months.... and it was not "happy" after I had recharged the battery and fired it up.
A bit of background.... Normally I drove the LS all the time, but I had tire/rim issues which sidelined it for a time because I just didnt have enough time to deal with it.... effing potholes... but thats another story.... )
It is being my experience that injectors codes come back once the car reaches operational temperature.
I guess I'll just have to run it awhile longer, but they haven't come back.
I think I've even had this happen before, (like as in, over a year ago) but can't remember how long it took to go away.
If it turns out it does come back, then whats the next course? plugs? injector service(s)? Car has 150K on the clock. I'll have to look at the service record to see if the plugs were ever done.
Update for those curious.... according to my OBD reader the emissions etc systems were all ready, so I took the car and it passed state inspection without issue. I have not seen the CEL come back on since the reset.
