I recently purchased an 09 460. Took it to Atl, ran wonderfully. A few days later all of the sudden it is acting very sluggish. No codes, everything is running beautifully according to scanner. Cleaned MAF sensors and it woke up, but still not 100%. Drove to gym and after gym it is back to being sluggish. Any ideas?

This (attached TSIB) is the main thing that comes to mind, though the sluggishness/hesitation (which I lived through with my 2008 LS back in the day) was normally triggered by events like an oil change (topic discussed at length across different threads) or - in my case - a battery change. For you, it sounds like the sluggishness just came about.

However, this may still apply, and having the latest ECM calibration can only help. For context, my 3ish year-old LS (at the time) was 5 calibrations out-of-date, and in my case, the software update was like a miracle. Again, not sure this is your issue, but sharing in case it helps.

And congratulations on the car, btw!

Thanks! I'll be sure to get that done. I appreciate it, love the car!

Did any issues show up on a pre purchase inspection or did you not have one?

No codes on pre inspection. Ran great. Sometimes i'll get in it and it runs good, then 10 minutes later it runs like its gasping for fuel. I'll try the calibration and see if that brings it out of the slump. It has a few codes now having to do with air intake. Probably why it woke up when i cleaned maf sensors, but there is still something holding it back that's all connected. I would like to take it on another trip to Atl, but also don't want to get stranded.

It might help you to go to Lexus.com and create an account/ add your vin and look at whatever service records are there and what if any problems the car has had in the past.

Is the tranny shifting fine? I had a similar issue when I changed the tranny fluid and it went into "safe mode" no codes and erratic. Added half a quart and good to go. No one believes that such a small amount of fluid could make such a big difference, but it did.

Actually it occasionally shifts harder than normal, or at least downshifts harder, but not always. The thing that keeps throwing me is that it will run great for an unknown time, and then seems it goes into a "safe mode," and then will run better but not great. Leave it sitting, go back out and repeat. Everything is so inconsistent. Mechanic thinks it is possibly one of the maf sensors is acting up.

Yup. That's what happened to me. Mechanic did not believe me. Put on rack, car warm and in drive the car was a little low on tranny fluid. Added and all issues resolved. Very weird but worked for last 30k miles. One thing to try.
