Scratching Feeling in Brake Pedal
I have an odd scratching/rubbing feeling in the pedal as I’m mildly to modestly braking. It’s hard to explain, almost a rotational or rythmatic feeling, but the pads are at 8mm and are relatively new when I bought it. Rotors very slightly warped already, but not terrible.
No lights or noises, actuator is putting out the correct voltage. Doesn’t seem to do it every single time but most of the time. Not sure if it’s the nature of the beast and I just need to get used to the quirks of the car or what.
Anyone experienced this before?

If you have warped rotors that would account for weird brake feel.

Good to know. It's unfortunate that I already have a very slight pulsation in newer pads and rotors. I know these cars eat tires and brakes and one bad puddle with hot brakes can cause them to warp, Not much you can do. I also still get a squish sound intermittently when applying the brakes. If this actuator goes, I hope it does before November, since that's when the extended coverage expires. Just had the valley plate resealed and the GX is going in next week for a coolant leak I can't find with a borescope or pressure tester. Don't see a leak with the borescope; was a pain to access under the intake. Hope this isn't part 2 of the valley plate. I know, first world problems having a 3 Lexus household.
I absolutely love this car, and it was worth the wait, but I hate the braking system. Why not make it like our GX or ES? They overcomplicate it with this stupid system; one downfall of the car IMO. I'm still getting used to it to find out what's normal and what's not.

That system allows the VDIM concept to operate at the highest level and also provides much more effective brake force independent if input if in a panic situation.
That's why they opted for that, it's a much more versatile system with abilities beyond a normal one. To get the same effect out of a normal system you need a LARGE ABS pump like on my Audis and it still won't technically be able to react as quickly and requires very
specific fluid to match VDIM.
