Looks very nice. I bought a ‘12 with 84k last month in very good condition but in hindsight I should have bought a ‘13+. My car feels a little old after owning it for a month.
I had to go check this out, it's crazy that they're not removable without taking the whole seat out. they are available separately for $700 each.
I put the new car seat in the wife’s GX since it has a high ceiling, removable headrest, and is more forgiving. Took the seat in hers and got it in the LS.
Does anyone have a child that’s in one of those seats that converts as they grow? I just picked up one for this car today. I HATE modern child seats. I’m having a hell of a time trying to make it work. The car headrest is in the way, not removable because it hits the ceiling, so there’s no clearance. Right now, I can lower it onto the seat, but as he grows and the height on his needs to be adjusted, it won’t work since the car’s headrest protrudes.
I’ve got towels and a seat protector since the interior is immaculate. I need to safely install this seat without ruining my car. Any one of these I buy will be an issue. This is a car you just don’t own with kids, lol. Can anyone help? I don’t want to buy and return 5 different seats out of trial and error.
We have always used Nuna car seats and boosters. They have given us zero issues like you describe. Right now we have a Nuna Rava and Nuna Aace in our LS and both work quite well.
I wound up putting the new seat in my wife's GX. Obviously, the ceiling is higher and more forgiving, plus the headrests are easily removable. The one she had in hers fit a little better in the LS. It's the same one as in my ES, but the ES has a flatter headrest, so I just jammed a towel between it and the car seat. I've got towels and a seat protector under and behind them in the cars. Should be good until he can move to a backless booster.
I will say, whoever came up with these newer designed child seats.....I had very bad words to say to them yesterday. I've done lots of work on cars, and installing these is worse than many jobs. It took a couple of hours trying to figure it all out and get them switched around and installed.
