Default 2014 clock not working

I have a 2014 LS460. The clock moves, but doesn't always run. I can adjust the time but it runs sporadically so the time is off. Do I need a new clock or is their a repair solution? Next how do you take the clock out of the dash.
TIA

There's no repair that I've heard of, fairly common problem though.

Mine took a dump about 5-6 yrs ago but was covered under warranty.

Removing trim to access the clock is relatively easy. There’s a few videos on YouTube on CarPlay/android audio installation which show steps to remove the trim.

There is another member here @SW17LS that said he didn't have to take the console or radio out to replace his, just the vertical right hand trim piece by the radio and the part that the clock is in will come out that way. I would try taking off the panel on the right hand end of the dash first and start prying out on the clock trim carefully with a plastic trim removing tool and see how it goes.

If you read the pdf up 2 posts you'll see the warranty flat rate is 0.5 hrs so I doubt if too many panels are removed to get the clock out. I took the console and radio out when I was working on mine just because you're less likely to break any clips etc.

Thats right, I removed the side panel on the passenger side of the dash. The whole part is very sturdy...

When mine went bad I got a new one from amayama. I took the entire old clock assembly apart. There are plastic gears inside that were worn enough to have the time skip. It would be possible to replace the worn gears but they are very small, like a nice digital/quarts clock so I don't think a 3D printer would be able to print these gears as fine as needed. Hopefully the new parts last longer but I'm seeing people with ~10 years on the clocks? before they break or start to have issues.

It's on the third version so hopefully something has been improved, I might replace mine because it's starting to get on my nerves.
