Trunk solenoid not working I assume.

Beeps when I try to open with button under trunk lip, button on dash and button on key fob, but I do not hear the release (solenoid I assume) “pop”.

I opened the trunk with the key fine, and when I push button to close, it closes and locks fine.

Wondering if there is something I can check easily.

Any ideas will be appreciated!

 

I think your valet switch in the glove compartment got switched on somehow, it's in the left upper corner when you open the glove box...out is on in is off

 

Valet switch is off - that was first thing I checked.

 

Ok, that was the only easy thing I could think of. Did you have another fob to try?

 

There have been a number of posts where the mechanism is faulty. Some buy used due to price difference. The age of your car would support this. I suppose it's possible it still latches but won't release. Try a search of the forum.
