Default 2016 ls460 air strut

Has anyone used aftermarket air struts? Are they good?

Ok thanks. My right rear started leaking. Left rear is ok. I do alot of gm vehicles and they don't recommend replacing air struts in pairs. My car has 42000 miles on it.
At close to a 1000.00 a piece Im thinking about doing the one.

I did look at Arnott. They don't offer a replacement air strut for the rear of an LS 460. Thanks everyone for input.

They work fine, just don't have adjustment since Lexus is low volume. It will outlast OE at the expense of loss of CDC function

Something to consider when a rear air strut requires replacement. The rear seat needs to be completely removed along with rear deck. From a labor point of view it makes sense to replace both rears at the same time. You can save hundreds by ordering parts from amayama.com direct from Japan.

swfla thanks for the info on amayama.com. From the dealer the struts are 1700.00. From amayama.com they are 700.00 plus 157.00 for shipping. I am going to ask my local
Toyota dealer to run the part numbers next week and see what they can do. In my shop last month I had a 2017 nx200 that needed a rear emergency brake actuator and lexus
wanted 900.00 for it. I called the Toyota dealer and gave them the part number and got it for 600.00. You guys might try going through The Toyota dealership for parts.

We do one better - we can choose what dealer to buy from and compare prices real time at parts.lexus.com
Happy New Year! It's already 2024 in my neck of woods haha

You may be able to get the dealer/corp to doing on warranty with such low mileage. I have 274k on my 12 ls460L AWD and still have original rears. The fronts were replaced at 175k, 71k, 33k, and show as warranty work.

So glad you shared your high mileage air struts story. Do you feel that gentle driving on good roads with no passengers is a big part of the long life? It seems that most posters consider early shock failure a forgone conclusion.
