Default ABS VSC Warning

Hello

I have a 2008 LS460 with about 151,000 miles. For the past month their is a warning on the instument cluster that says check VCS and it also says check the ABS. I have owned the car since 2010.

The check engine light does not come on with the the VSC/ABS warning. The warning only comes on after I initially start the car it goes off but as soon as I put my foot on the brake pad without putting the car in gear that warning light comes on.

i thought maybe a sensor might be bad but I did replace the rear rotors and sensors since the rotor were pulsating when I appied the brakes. now the right sensor did not want to come out of the housing on the drivers side and I ended up having to carefully drilling that plastic sensor out of housing. I had never seen one stuck like that before.

I have a OB2 tester and it will give me two codes one is 1253 1/2 current pump motor failure, The other code is 1256 1/2 current again accumulator low pressure. So I am thinking that the motor might be bad to the accumulator but if I hold my foot on the brake I can hear the motor kicking in.

Has anyone else experience this problem?

Any suggestions are much appreciated

Thanks in advance

Your brake pump/accumulator is failing. There's a current Lexus program to pay for this repair. You must have the lights and codes, it appears you do. Call your Lexus service dept for an appointment to confirm that you qualify. Do it now as the program ends soon. You save big$$$.

So you think my car will qualify for this program although it is a 15yr old vehicle? Now that would be great

I just did some research on this and it appears this program is for Ls460 2013-2017

Sorry, a minor detail I got wrong. However, the codes are indicative (as well as the age and miles) of this failure. It's well documented as an eventual failure on the LS460. No aftermarket parts available, only used, they aren't generally recommended for this repair. If you have an indie shop that has the right software to do the work (yes, software) that may save you some money. There are many threads here about this issue if you want to research it further.
