Default Not another VSC off/check, ABS, Brake light thread

So, my dash has lit up like a Christmas tree. My problem is my scanner does not read ABS codes. Short list of things I’ve done
1) checked resistance in all 4 wheel sensors. Removed both rear sensors, inspected and cleaned
2) tested all related fuses and relays
3) swapped out ABS actuator / module
4) inspected brake pads
5) checked brake fluid
6) calibrated yew sensor via paper clip method. Swapped out sensor with a donor sensor and calibrated

Each time calibrated sensor, the lights would go out but come back on as soon as I put vehicle in any selected gear while depressing brake

so, at this point I’m reaching out to the community for recommendations on a scanner tool, bi-directional functionality is a plus.
Also, where is the VSC module/computer located, if equipped on 2002 model?

Since the OP owns an 02, do a search on this forum for the "paper clip" fix using the OBD outlet. Be thankful you don't have an 04-06 of which it won't work. There is an easy fix for your issue to get the light to go out using a paper clip. Good luck. PS... If you use a OBD reader that doesn't read ABS codes, it will most likely trigger these lights. Another reason to get a more comprehensive reader that covers more systems.

Good to know.TY
I have a lower end scanner, Autel MaxiSys 509... I can connect to OBD port and select ‘ clear codes ‘ and disconnect before turning ignition off, then turn off ign, start vehicle and all lights go out.. Playing around, I did as above but placed gear selector in neutral before starting car and shifted into drive w/o utilizing brake. The VSC off light came on but all others stayed off for duration of test drive.
Shut vehicle off , start up and shift into gear, all lights on board..

I’m researching the Techstream threads on here now for proper version , etc,,,

One alternative I just came across on my (2001 UL) intermittent vsc warning issues was that my brake light switch went out. I had to use the override to shift into gear. After replacing the brake light switch (Lexus 84340-30110, Brake Light Switch) to fix the shifting issue, the vsc warning has not come on in over 2 weeks since (was coming on daily before that).

I just tried reading a thread using iPhone w/o signing in, impossible, attacked by pop up ads and page kept crashing, just horrible
LS430has been grounded for awhile now. Purchased a bi-directional scanner ... shortcoming below

Cleared codes, prior to road test, disconnected wiring harness to actuator and reconnected - during road test I drove off side of road several times onto wet grass and slammed on brakes hard, ensuring I felt the vibration - pulse in pedal, confirming Abs actuator was operational while skidding
Preferably, do this on a dirt or gravel road for safety reasons and so the neighbors don’t think you’re crazy, I’m past that point , so..
after scanning again, I no longer have C1223 & C1246. No Abs, brake, check traction control or triangle warning light... Just VSC off light, lifter several road trips, those 3 codes - C1223 & C1246 have not been triggered again

So, only C1336 remains. I’ve performed Zero point calibration using the scan tool, fails... same with paper clip. Using both methods I get a flashing ABS light but the VSC off light will not flash, remains solid

To be continued...

I use techstream and if I don't do the test after it has been reset it won't work. The test has to be done after it resets. Does your scan tool have a test function?

It has Clear Memory Mode & Test Mode. Hopefully I am performing function correctly.
1) Perform clear memory
2 ) perform Test Mode..
No flashing VSC light to complete function

Where do you recommend I purchase from?
Are schematics available on TS ?

Ebay or Amazon both have Techstream or Carista interfaces. Any version of techstream will work as this is an old model. For some reason the LS430 does not like some scanners and actually causes the VSC problem. Techstream does a step by step procedure but does not tell you to do the test at the end which is the only way to fix the problem. Your clear memory may only clear the codes and not reset the VSC.

Thanks for reply and info, should have invested in Techstream long ago

Good catch on the clear memory, while the scan tool does have clear memory function, I misspoke and meant Reset Memory

Today I swapped Skid Control Ecu and Yaw sensor again, reset and Zero Point Calibration failure. I was playing around with graph function, checking wheel sensors, yaw rate, etc... and my focus is now on the stop light switch circuit. Note in combined graph, the stepping force (brake applied) and stoplight switch, do not match.
The stoplight switch is off regardless of pedal being applied or released, yet brake lights function properly

Tequila Time...

Continued

So, decided to move the LS430 into the shop this evening to start diagnosing issue. Vehicle cranks, but no start and no check engine light on display with key on.
No communication with ECU.

- somebody wake me up
