Steering wheel makes this sound when turned to the right slightly. Is this normal?
Hello everyone my 2007 LS460 makes this noise when you turn the wheel to the right slightly kinda sounds like you’re torquing the wheels. It’s makes this noise when I’m parked and the car is with the ignition on and it also makes it while turned on as well. It dosen’t make the noise while off as well. It doesn't make a power steering buzz as well. I attached a video. I am concerned only because yesterday I hit a curb and I don’t know if I sustained any damage or not because it was somewhat minor. My alignment is still straight and it doesn't pull to the left or right as well. I hit the curb on my rear passenger side wheel. Can you help me with any of this let me know your thoughts? My guess is it’s normal and it’s just the car? Or maybe it’s something to do with the steering assembly. I’m only 21 so I’m still learning as I go along any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like a worn component in the steering wheel connection. The car has electric steering rack, no pump, no steering shaft with joints to wear out. As it's not causing any issues other than annoyance, let it ride. Repairing cars are expensive and LS460 more so. Let's see what others have to say here.
Any warning lights on the dash? It's smart to check your OBD2 port for error codes. It takes a code reader to do this, many auto part stores will do this service at no charge, though a Toyota Lexus indy shop will give more precise info and may also be able to diagnose the issue for about $150 or less. If it is vgrs system you'll get an estimate for repair. Do a google search to understand Lexus vgrs and what it does.
That video was taken with key on engine off, you have a shaft coming from the steering wheel to the rack that has a single u-joint just above the brake pedal and a double u-joint with a boot where it joins to the rack. With the engine off the rack is barely moving, you should get a real diagnosis at a shop before you start spending money.
You didn't mention any warning lights on the dash, if you damaged the rack you would.
Hopefully something easy and cheap but hitting a curb isn't copathetic with fragile vgrs teeth...
On Land Cruisers w/VGRS hitting a curb almost always jumps teeth and steering wheel becomes way lopsided.

No there was no warning lights showing up at all. I do have a obd scanner I’ll try that. Thanks for your input
While you're doing that try the tilt/teloscopic in different positions and see if anything changes.
I tried that and I found that when the telescope setting is all the way forward it makes less of that noise and when it’s out more it makes it louder. Maybe that’s the issue I’m having ? The height up and down didn’t make a difference with the noise only forward and backwards. I tried the OBD II scanner and no codes showed up as well. There’s also no warning lights on my dash so maybe it’s just a minor issue. I’m not too worried about it right now because the car drives fine but if it becomes a bigger problem I’ll come back to the forums.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't get this advice quite right. Now I know.
That sounds to me like there is a loose component somewhere, so when you turn there is a bit of play before the mechanism actuates and the sound you hear is cause by the loose component locking up and doing what it's supposed to.
Does that make sense? Although I don't know if something like that is possible with the LS460 steering.
