I suggest that you respectfully ask for them to install a replacement trans and torque converter at no labor cost. They failed to properly diagnose and repair. As money is and should be an issue, even if they counter offer at half price, you're ahead. It's unusual for these transmissions to fail, so you should be fine with a used. low mile replacement. It's suggested that trans fluid be replaced at 100k or sooner. So, finding a used trans with under 100k is suggested.

It costs $2100/10 hrs labor and some parts, fluid for tranny swap in Austin. Used tranny is $750
