I've had good luck with Amazon plugs. Ordered from Amazon not one of the other sellers. No issues.
In general, making sure that Amazon.com is listed as the seller is the best bet. However, Amazon does mingle their inventory and all sellers' inventory, at least in some cases. Sellers that use Amazon's fulfillment services ship their product to Amazon's fulfillment centers, and if Amazon determines it's more efficient, all the product goes into the same "bin". This is how even ordering from Amazon as the seller can lead to bad product, unfortunately.
There are websites with photos of genuine and counterfeit plugs. As long as you can return them, O'reilly, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. all are volume buyers direct from mfg.
That's very normal for turbo engines, I only get 15k out of my tuned V8......
My mk6 GTI was fine for 100k+. Driving hard. This is very interesting and will have to research. But 15k turbo tuned lifespan vs 150k normal aspired lifespan (agreed at limit but no codes and passed smog) is very big spread....

I have 150hp/L and insane TQ output, it burns the plugs up very quickly and I don't like risking misses. I could probably do 20-25k but would rather not risk it

That is insane. Pic of vehicle this engine uses? Remember how awesome it was when the S2000 passed 100hp/L na. Just the starting point....
