Brake Actuator / Accumulator - Is Frequent Priming Normal?
I did do the "actuator removed" procedure all the way through, exactly as it told me to. I just wanted to run through it a second time as I felt like it wasn't fully bled but the procedure kept failing at the step where you bleed front 2 brakes, then turn off ignition and wait 2+ minutes, then plug in actuator plugs, turn on ignition, and move to rear brakes, but once I go to start the rear brake bleed, the procedure failed and wanted to start from the beginning. We tried it 3 times but same failure at same spot. So we just decided to just do the "air bleed" for the rear as the front had been bled sufficiently by this point and there was definitely a lot of air still in there. I mostly wanted to do the part where the accumulator releases pressure 5 times to bleed itself but could never get that far after the first time. Not sure if that's the "zero down" part of the procedure. Either way, while I wish I could have done one more full bleed of the system, it has been stopping fine and the pedal feels good so I think I can call it a success unless something pops up in the next few days.
We did the "Actuator has been removed" procedure once but wanted to do it again as it looked like there was still air in the system. We tried 2 more times but Techstream kept failing a couple steps in at the same step. So we went with regular air bleed, did all 4 corners and there definitely were a few air bubbles left in there.
I'm sure yours is legit but that's what happened to me.
Jason, PM me - I'll help you thru. That's why you kinda need FSM for stuff like that.
Without finishing the sequence there's still leftover air in the dreaded 'red suction line'. And rears are fully electronically operated, so finishing F-F-R-R-R (yes, three rear bleeds total - sequence will bleed red line first via one of rears then bleed both rears) sequence is essential.
Waiting for PM, friend.
