Default Sunshade Help

Hey all, just got a 2011 Awd model. Everything works as should except the rear sunshade. I’ve tried the front button and back button and no movement or sound. The fuse in the trunk area is OK. Any idea what I can do, I didn’t see much for this specifically? It only has 65k so would be surprised if it’s dead already.

If you have a code reader you can scan all of the body modules and see if you pull any codes. Any good auto parts store will be able to scan and pull codes too. Otherwise maybe pull the trunk liner and see if you can access the Sunshade via the trunk. Did you look back there to see if anything is jamming it?

There is a way to disable it in Techstream, I am not sure if it can be re-enabled through the head unit.

Most of these parts stores don't have lexus-specific code readers so you may not get a code back for it. Hopefully they do have one but I'd ask.

I have Carista and recall that one can change settings for how the shade operates. For instance, one can set it to fold away when in reverse and pop back up again. As stated above, you may be able to see and adjust settings on your screen as well.

Yes you can set the rear shade up in Carista. That is how I set mine up before I had techstream. I have mine set to never go down even when I put it in reverse.

that’s a great feature, I hate hearing the thing go up and down just backing out of a parking spot.

Thank you for the replies. I have a pretty decent scanner. I’ll see if I get anything. Definitely nothing blocking it and doesn’t look like the trunk has ever been taken apart.
