Trying to install an aftermarket amp just for my 12”
can’t get any modern amp to turn on
2001 ML W/Nav
12” sundown 600w
600d sundown amplifier
680 amp wiring kit
LOC converter tapped into
yellow - right positive
black - right negative
green - left positive
blue - left negative
Grey wire on bottom plug (same harness as second) as remote
I’ve been messing around with this for a few weeks
I tested an older sony explod it turned on and stayed on
tried two different newer style amps and they will not turn on
Any advice is welcome thank you.

I think we need more information. What method are you using to get the signal to the amp to actually turn on? So long as it is getting the 12v "turn on" feed, it should power up so long as the line has power.
Maybe something like this would be helpful, but I am curious to see what setup you have at the moment as well:
Sorry for the ghetto mock up. I have it all disconnected for right now because it was causing interference in my left speaker, but here is entirely what's going on LOC tapped into all specified wires > going out to the rca on my amp, remote wire tapped into the grey one (hard to see) then ran to the remote onto my amp

solved this, top harness connected to amp has all the necessary wires including the remote, might add the colors just to help someone do this in the future because it took a long time to find the right forum post
