Does it sound like my climate control module is fried?

Default Does it sound like my climate control module is fried?

I had a leak above my right front windshield that would leak into the headliner behind the passenger sunvisor and the side curtain airbag when I bought my LS about five years ago. I patched the leak myself and it held but the other day it started leaking again.

This time my radio went out. I still had climate control and even though I couldn't get sound out of any source, I did still have all the beeps from pressing buttons. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the rain again before I could pull the headliner to fix the leak again. This time I've totally lost my ability to control the climate settings. No defrost even and the beeps are gone.

The Lexus logo often stays on the screen and both the climate and radio tell me to check the connection to their corresponding units when I try to control them.

I put a backup screen in that I know works and I still have the problem so I think the head unit is good. I also checked every single fuse that had anything to do with the climate control or radio and all were good.

Do you think the actual climate control module is fried ? They are pretty cheap on eBay so I was thinking of just trying one. Do I need to match part numbers or are they all the same. Do the ULs and standard trims use the same units?

I have an 04 UL with ML and nav btw.

Should I take a shot and order this? Is this the right one for UL?

And where exactly this located in the vehicle?

I'm sorry, I don't want to bump this but I am having a really hard time finding where that unit is located. Surely somebody here knows and can tell me where. I really need to pull it and match the part numbers so I can order one. I would really greatly appreciate it if somebody could help me out here.

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply but it's been very hectic with work and social life lately.

Anyway, I ended up finding the unit. I put a replacement in and I still have zero control of any climate functions.

I don't have a warm place to work on this rn. So I'll just park it for the winter and hopefully figure it out when summer comes. The car will be retired to a backup/second/maybe a project car.

As a replacement I just bought a 2007 LS460 L with only 126k and it's quite loaded. I pick it up tomorrow.
