Default Help! Ls430 engine cover!

Hello, I really find clublexus very helpful and useful! I am a newbie when it comes to cars but I do have a clean 06' LS430 with 86k miles anyways
my engine cover bolts got cut off
Anyone know the size of the bolt or where I can get them and also how tf do I take off the bolt? Its stuck! Lol

Thanks in advance!

As Bradland said, you will need to replace the brackets, which are relatively inexpensive. The studs are either welded or pressed into the brackets, so there really isn't a good way to repair them if they break off.

In all seriousness, I have something similar to this:
Thread Gauge Thread Gauge
. It comes in handy for finding bolt and thread sizes.

It's probably an M6 x 1.00 thread pitch, similar to license plate bolts

You could probably just drill the old ones out and slide a bolt with the jam nut into the slot. The cover is going to ride slightly higher with the jamb nut on top of the bracket, but probably wouldn't be noticeable.

Superglue the joint and BAM bolt fixed... in all seriousness possibly use J-B weld, or another appropriate cold welding solution and glue it back together...

Default Nut size?

I lost the nuts while working on engine with the cover off. I remember it was a 10mm, anyone know where I can find these?

It’s just an acorn nut. Get them at any hardware store for maybe 25 cents, or the Lexus dealer for a few bucks. Your choice.

No. M6 was mentioned previously, sounds about right.

go to the junk yard - cost is 3 bucks to get in - find a toyota / lexus and your done - they typically don't charge for these items other than the entry cost
