Default 2004 Lexus 195,000 miles

I’ve put a lot of work into my car since I got it. It’s a great car. The only thing that bothered me was the trac control lights and engine light illuminated. The code pulls as p2757 which is a solenoid lock up issue. I have a techstream and diagnosed it. I was able to run techstream in test mode to accelerate the trips needed for the code to become permanent. Sure enough, I can run the car in 5th gear at about 55mph and the lock up is on and then bam the code appears. The engine speed and transmission speed are way off and that is triggering the code. The rpm’s exceed the threshold that the computer finds acceptable and then the light comes on. I don’t have the tools or a lift to do the transmission job. So, I took it to a shop and ask them very specifically to test the solenoids after they drop the pan. They took on the job. I dropped my car, get an invoice and then that is where things begin to go sideways. The invoice tells me there are two solenoids needed on the work order. I called and asked about it and request the specific part numbers. They returned by saying, oh, our bad. It was only one needed. We put two on there just in case…I’m like okay seems weird but anyways I want to buy the part and you put it in. They said that is okay and I got the part and drop it off. They follow up and say oops that was not the right part. I asked for them to confirm that the solenoid was tested to confirm it is bad because I do not want to throw money at problems by guessing. They said yes it was tested so I said great, save the old part. Because too much time had passed, my part was no longer returnable even though it was unopened. So I lost money there. They finish the job. I get there to pick it up. Now, the invoice says they purchased and installed a summit solenoid instead of OEM they also didn’t use Toyota WS ATF. I was pissed. I asked why they would lead me to believe I was having OEM installed because that is what was on the original statement and then switch it without asking me. I accepted that if it fixed the problem that is good enough. I take off and bam the code appears. I let them know the owner of the shop needs to reach out to me. He sends me an email. Sounds like a very stand up guy. Apologizes and says he stands behinds his techs work and will make it right if I bring it in. I tell him that his techs also ruined my driver carpet mat by getting grease all over it. He agrees to detail the mat. I drop off the car. Weeks go by with no communication. I call and speak with the front desk but they tell me the owner or the tech will call me back. Never get a call. After 6 weeks I’m fed up. I’ve been more than patient. I drive over to the shop. Of course, the owner is not there. I demand my keys and tell them I am done dealing with them. I get in my car, it’s just been parked outside clearly covered in dirt and dust. Get in, battery is drained. I have to jump my car. Take off and go to stop, brakes are soft. Pop the hood and find the brake reservoir is way too full. I drain some fluid and my brakes return. Overall, for replacing the oil pan gasket, a new oil filter, and the tranny work they charged me $1300 plus the part I could not return. I’m so mad and don’t know what more to do at this point. Honestly, my wife and I are fed up and are now considering just selling the car. Does anyone know a decent tech/shop in Texas? We recently move out to Lubbock and my first shop was trash.

Did you pay them with a Credit card? If so, initiate a chargeback due to services paid for and not recieved.
I always pay for services like that via CC for exactly that reason.

Yea, I did charge on the CC and submitted the dispute. I crawled up under the car today and looked around. Nothing looks damaged. I paid them to replace the oil pan gasket and I am not convinced that was done. While looking around I did notice this wire that is exposed. It seems to go to the transmission and goes to bottom right input of the plug.

Anyone know what this plug is or does? Im wondering if this could be causing my engine light to come on?

Located on the passenger side of the vehicle under the power steering reservoir.
