Question 2004 LS430 tail lights

Ok I recently Purchased my LS430. The passenger brake light on the Quarter is not fully functioning. As I am on the hunt for replacement I have come across 2 different tail light oem part #'s that no one can tell me the difference on. Hopefully someone here can chime in and let me know? The two part #'s are :
81551-50150
81551-50140. This is the one the dealer said my vin required but could not tell me the difference at all.

Ultimately I am just trying to be sure that any 2004-2006 tail light I get would work properly. Thanks

Yeah that is weird. Sometimes small updates are made on parts. I’m wondering if 40 was the original part and 50 has some small tweak to it.

There were 3 different "2004" models.
The 1st was made in late 2003 but was a facelift "2004" model.
The 2nd was made in early 2004 (up to March I believe).
The 3rd was made after March 2004.
The differences were minor but there none the less and this sounds like one of the differences.
I know that my 2004 is one of the 2nd group.

Not sure about in the US, but here, the early ones had orange indicator lenses whereas the later ones were clear.

Out of interest and going slightly OT, when did "interruptor" tail light indicators cease to be a thing?

Just curious on this also. Which did you purchase?
