Default Need help!!!! Interior water leak!!!

Hi guys! Firstly i want to say its a honer finally being part of club lexus the information i got from this site helped a long way in me finally purchasing my used 2001 LS430 (dream first car)

Now to the subject at hand. Whenever it rains there is a leak that finds its way into the front and back passenger side floor boards. I notice the leak drips down from under the bottom glove box. If anyone has any information on where it could be coming from it would help alot. Below are pictures attached showing water marks from where it seems like the water runs down on the leather. Also another thing to note is the passenger front window needs a new regulator so maybe that affects it.

From top

The middle

Right where the cloth meets the plastic is where i notice the water drips from.

So the video shows only how to do the back drain clogs. But after inspecting a bit more but pouring water on different parts of the car I came to the conclusion that it may not be the sunroof as the water bills up on the right side passenger side of the car where the windshield wipers collect water that seems to be where the leak is coming from is on the water bills up there and start leaking to the floorboard of the right passenger seat. No the new question is what could that be what is the airport code and should I just take it to a mechanic and if I do take it to mechanic do you guys think it will be expensive?

Was the windshield replaced recently? Could be leaking if it wasn't sealed properly.

There is also a drain inside the bottom of the a/c evaporator cooling chamber box which is open to the cowl panel under the windshield wipers. Normally that drips condensation from the a/c but also is open to the cowl grille so dirt and small leaf/fuzzy stuff etc can get inside when it rains. I bet that drain is plugged so when it rains rather than pouring out the bottom its overflowing inside. Your cabin air filter behind the glovebox is also probably drenched. You have to get under the car to find the rubber drain tube for it and run a thick wire or something up inside to unplug it. I haven't looked at mine, but I once had a GM truck which this happened to and the drain hose looked like a cap, but with a thin slit in the bottom so that nothing could crawl up into it but you could squeeze the cap and the slit would open allowing you to run something up inside it while someone else ran a hose into the cowl opening to flush it out. I was soaked with muddy leafy debris since I was lying on my back under the truck as it unclogged, but you might look for something like rubber cap with a slit in the bottom on the bottom of the a/c drain box to see if perhaps that is it.

Look at this thread - it shows you the location of the drain tube https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...drain-for.html

If you have a lot of debris inside you may have to have someone help like I did on the truck - flushing fresh water into the cowl vent while you work something in and out of the hose until it all falls out. Normally the cabin filter behind the glove box should catch debris coming in, but maybe someone ran it without the filter at all for years and dirt, debris, etc all got sucked in there and fell to the bottom. Check the filter and see what it looks like while you're at it as it will be better to take it out anyway while flushing water into the box, then you can put it back in so it doesn't get wet. Or..it might be missing which will let you know the source of the issue :-)

I recently cleared all of my moonroof drains, resealed my front windshield on both sides to eliminate such a leak. Found out the water was dripping on my left Side fuse box and causing shorts causing my emergency flashers to activate on their own. My most recent floor board leak (driver's Side) was discovered to be coming from the center console where the A/C is feed to the backseat passengers. Hope this helps!
