My car was cranking but wouldn't start, someone on the forum suggested I push the pedal to the floor and see if it started it did start what could be the problem? that is not the first time it did that but other times I didn't know to do that to get it started.

 

Flooring the accelerator while cranking puts the car into clear flood mode. This disables all the fuel injectors to clear out a engine flooded with fuel. You may have a stuck or leaking fuel injector(s), faulty fuel pressure regulator, or it could just be a coincidence that it started. How did it run after it started? Any codes?
