Data link error with scanner
I have a data link error with the scanner, It powers on, so I know there is power... I pulled the panel and all the wires look good. I searched here and some people said maybe broken plastic or something keeping it from plugging in all the way. That doesnt appear to be the issue
What is my next step? I do have a mini vsc and windows 8 tablet on the way. thanks in advance

fixed it. leaving it up for others that are finding this via search
200K miles later, the port has been plugged into many times. I'm sure paper clip jumps etc. anyways, the pin connector side gets wallowed out. you have to figure out which nes are loose and not connecting, pull the wire out of the obd2 connector, and tighten it up. put it back in the obd connector. I had 3 that were really sloppy. I pulled and tightened them up and all good
here is a good video I found which helped me greatly.
