Good catch! Nice car but I count 3 little things in the photos to indicate this car story has a story to tell.

Yeah, I didn't catch the tear in the seat either. The passager headlight looks faded too.

It’s interesting to see how expensive some of these LS430’s are when they’re in good shape. There was a local one with really low miles that was listed at $30k for a while. It wasn’t anything special, outside of mileage.

It would be pretty cool to have a low mileage LS though.

I wouldn’t dismiss the rising prices of these vehicles. I’m just in the process of buying one but saw the same happen with the BMW e30 market. My first two e30s ranged between 3k to 5k about 10 years ago. Those two vehicles would go for 15+ in todays market. They aren’t really special cars outside of being one of the last hand build models with minimal electronics and were mass produced (in the millions). I find myself seeing them go for 20k-40k thinking it’s foolish to spend that much on a car that isn’t “worth” it but the market commands it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if low mileage 430s get more expensive than we think they are worth.

The E30 market did get really crazy. I remember them being really cheap but most around here were in bad shape and I never bought one.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the LS430 gets more expensive. The LX470 and the other big Toyota SUV’s have all shot up quite a bit, along the early SC’s, IS-F, and Supras.

To each their own but I think the car is easily worth it, especially considering the prices cars are demanding today. I just recently bought my first 2004 LS for 15,900, it's got 70k miles and is in pretty good shape. It is from Maryland and has rust on the exhaust system and front suspension components, all the hood and trunk gas shocks were shot and had to be replaced. The air filter was filthy, and I still have to fix the glitchy center console. I swear all the speakers worked when I got it, but now, after a week of giving Mr. Mark Levinson a serious work out my driver side door speaker, front dash tweeter and subwoofer all seem to be shot. There are a good number of rock chips and defects in the paint, but most of it is very clean and sparkly.

Now the good. Everything works, telescoping steering wheel, folding side mirrors, heated/cooled seats, park assist. EVERYTHING. To be honest, I expected nothing less from an almost 20-year-old Toyota but then I drove it. The V8 really wants to scream in my face but I can't hear it. Trapped in a sound deadened cabin you are silently propelled to 100+mph with what is quite possibly, the smoothest, silkiest V8 ever made. The steering and handing is very responsive and I just absolutely love this car. Love it, Love it Love it!

If there was rust like that I would not have payed over 10k, I don't have anything like that in my 237k mile one and it was from Ohio it's whole life.
