2004 Lexus LS430 Internal Trunk Release
Hello everyone, my first post here. I have recently purchased 2004 Lexus LS430 UL Trim, in almost perfect condition. I am really amazed on how quiet and smooth the car is. So, my problem is the internal trunk release button (located next to the fuel button). For some reason I can’t open my trunk from it. I have searched couple forums regarding this, and have found the valet lock located in the center of both buttons need to be unlocked. However in my case, my trunk release still doesn’t work despite the valet locked being unlocked. I even tried to lock and unlock the valet lock multiple times, hoping it might eventually work, but no luck. My second guess was probably a blown fuse. So I went through the fuses map in the owner’s manual and found fuse 48 (10 A) located in the trunk for both the Fuel opener and trunk Lid, since this is a common fuse for both systems, and my fuel open works perfectly, so my guess is that the fuse is alright.
Edit:
I fixed the problem, turns out it was the valet lock button’s loose wiring.
