Default Ls430 not detecting key fob

Hi guys

Had a message on my dash saying batteries were low on my key fob. Changed the battery and now the smart key is not working. Any ideas of what it could be?
key fob buttons are working. Can lock/unlock/open trunk. Checked the smart key switch under the dash too.
Smart key light flashes green along with a red flash too and I get the message of 'key not detected' I can start the car with the fob in the ignition.

Duff battery? Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? If new should be at least 3.2V.
Even if the push buttons on the key work, I'd still check the battery.
I've seen weird behaviour with duff batteries in fobs before.

Thank you! I didn't check it with a meter. Will give it a whirl tomorrow and check again. Don't get the low battery sign anymore though just the key not detected sign

Your valet key (if you are using it) must be in the ignition to start the car. When I get key not detected message it usually means I have the valet key with me, not one of the regular keys.

Cheers guys. Turned out to be a duff battery. Worked a treat once I changed it!
