Mark Levinson Issue
Hi Members,
New member seeking help. My audio system has a very strange issue. I searched the forum but I was unable to find a similar issue. My radio controls, cassette player, CD does not work. The radio ***** don’t even have the backlight. Zero life. Steering wheel controls also don’t work. I can only slightly hear the radio. It is so faint as volume was set at .5. I can hear all the speakers and sub at that volume.
I have checked all three fuses (radio, tel and amp) and they all are fine. Not sure if I should be checking any fuses for ACC and On sources.
I desperately need help. I hope someone has experienced this issue and can guide me. I would greatly appreciate it.
thank you

I am happy to report that I disconnected the amp and head unit for about an hour and when I plug it in all started working. Don’t know how long it will last but so far it’s working.
thank you for the reply. I appreciate it.

Sounds like it had corrosion on the connectors. If the problem recurs, clean the contacts of the connectors with a contact cleaner spray and then smear them with a dielectric grease.
There is also a known issue with the type of solder used on the circuit boards in the earlier LS430s so sometimes giving the amp a "thump" can get it working again.

thanks. I will keep it in mind.
