Question Bleed rear brakes only possible with computer which gives command to abs pump?

Hello Lexus friends,

A friend of mine warned me not to bleed the rear brakes with some simple device. He thinks it needs to be bleeded with a computerprogram which commands the ABS pump to pump the brake fluid.

He says that there is a risk of braking the abs pump when just bleed it without the correct ECU command.

An anyone conform or reject this please?

I flushed and bled brakes on both of my LS430s.

I used the gatorage bottle method. Very easy to do alone, Great pedal pressure as well - so no issues.

Curious what others have to say as well!

You only need to do the ABS module via TechStream if you run the reservoir dry. Other than that, conventional bleeding is fine, either pedal pumping, using a vacuum tool, whatever...

Just don't run it dry and you can use any tactic you want, if you do run it dry then yes you will need to command the ABS to bleed
