Totally agree the oil should be changed again now. We’re it mine I would change. Drive a few miles and recheck. If still black, repeat until new oil remains amber.

^ Use a conventional 5W-30 oil, drive 50-100 km, oil change, repeat if necessary. In my car with 7000 km oil change interval (roughly 5,000 miles) on full synthetic oil (every 9 months or so) the oil coming out looks a hell of lot like the new oil going in. Black oil is not good at all. If your car has ring issues (due to poor lubrication etc) and/or blows blue smoke you might be getting a lot of combustion vapors in the crankcase which will cause the oil to degrade and look dark soon. Maintenance of good lubrication of the engine with regular oil changes per the owners manual is THE most important thing for longevity of the engine.

The engine runs perfect. No smoke or smells... nothing.

Do you happen to know the minimal spec for cheap oil?

Yes. 5W-30 oil, API SL rating, energy conserving. Says so right on the fill cap. Does not need to be synthetic. Find the cheapest, generic brand that meets that spec.

Would this super cheap oil work? I only want the right additive packs into my engine. Nothing else. Even if its for flushing.

Yes it's actually overkill if we are being technical since the required spec for the 3uz is extremely easy to meet

I believe that is diesel rated oil, not a gasoline engine oil (VW 505,00 was what was required to used to use in my VW TDI). But probably does not matter for your purposes. SN rating might be equivalent to or better than SL, not sure. Sure is pricey.

Correction: its a smoking deal. I did not realize it was a 5 Liter jug

Hmm There are other oils on this site where it says that its specifically for diesel. This is the cheapest I could find. The price for 1 liter is an average of 7 to 8 euro's.

€11 for 5 Litres?
That's US$12.90 for 5.3 Quarts and that is as cheap an oil as I have seen this side of the pond.
Looks fine for use as a flushing oil to me. I'd even run that as a regular oil for a couple of thousand miles.

How do you guys feel about using flushing additives just before an oil change in the 3UZ?
Some engines like it, but I know that others don't.
Since I don't see many threads on oil leaks on the forums, I guess it's OK to use in the 3UZ engine?
On my older motorcycle I use Wynns Engine Flush every other oil change (same time as I change the oil filter).

I have heard that Wynns isnt very good. They also make stuff to stop leaking your radiator and after that you need to demount your whole engine because that stuff is stuck internally. I don't now if thats still the case because this is an old story.

I like to know whats the best flush to use as well.

One last question: I am going to order some oil now. How much would you order to flush? I am thinking of 2 total flushes or should I do 3?

I would do 1 more flush. Some use Marvel's Mystery Oil in the crankcase before an oil change as a flushing and cleaning agent. e.g., 1/2 liter or even more, drive 100 miles, then oil change. I have never used it, never needed to. Do a search here for what people have done using it (also known as MMO).

Do you know the price for that oil check?
I've heard there are many affordable LS430's in the UK. Do you happen to know a scrapyard where I can find parts?
If it sat for most of those 3 years then chances are it just needs a good flush.
I paid £49.95 for my last oil check but that was 2 years ago.

There are a few LS430s in the UK, but they are still rare.
There are quite a few being "broken" on eBay.co.uk.
Just contact the seller and ask for the part you want.

There is also a Lexus specialist on eBay.co.uk called LexusSparesDirect.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/lexussparesdirect?_bkw=ls430

They do a Transmission Oil cooler kit, and a few other goodies as well as used parts.

We dont have that brand. Best I found is Forte. Only problem is that its owned by Wynns since a couple of years and I have heard that the formula is more weak nowerdays.

Allright thanks for the advice!

I have seen that oil cooler. I didnt dare to buy it because its not original and the oil isnt heating up as quick as original since its getting its heat from the radiator water. I just bought an original radiator but it has a cap on top. They all have that in the US but we in Europe have a separate tank for that and we dont have any cap... Hope there is room for a cap and hope it fits..... I still wanted to ask US LS drivers if they have a special hole in the bottom of their air mouth intake so that cap can fall in better. (I mean that plastic cover what is on top of the radiator)

I havent installed my new radiator yet.
