So after 18 years of pining after an LS, and owning 4 es, 1 rx and 1 is in the middle (3 were orphans), I finally got an LS
This is an orphan, too, but will be mine until she sells. We own a small boutique-ish dealership and I don’t have car anymore because it was never driven, so I purpose to have something very nice in stock for me. Car seats installed, Toyota emblem hanging from the mirror. I price it high and tend to only sell it to someone who loves it, like the 05 Avalon I just got out of.
We are keeping the 1992 Toyota crown majesta JDM and have a 1950 Chevy. Probly getting a JDM Minivan because our family won’t fit in a sedan soon. I can’t justify keeping this LS indefinitely but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible
So it’s a 2006 LS in maroon with tan leather. 150k, very clean, and should be here early next week. Had some preliminary questions:
is there a paint code for the wheels on these? Two need some repair. Same thing with the grill; there is a chip.
totally agreed ;-) I am SO stoked to finally have one of these. Praying it doesnt have any issues i cant work out.
Also, not to swing the post off topic, but I am searching for an S130 Toyota Crown DIESEL to import =) if I come across a nice enough gasoline one I guess I'll bite - 2021's summer is going to be GREAT for driving. Got a nissan Laurel hitting the port in 6 weeks, the Corwn majesta is home for the season, and there is a chance the 50 chevy gets a new motor (finally)
Love that colour but it is rare as unicorn droppings here in the UK.
Needs an new grille and the wheels are just nasty, but a strip and powdercoat should sort those out.
Give her some love and she'll reward you :-)
Yea other than the wheels and grille she seems well cared for. I was thinking I would repair that grill and find a similar paint; I’d love to know the Lexus paint code for their grills. And wheels!
I may outsource the wheels as I’m not equipped for a permanent fix. This old girl has NONE of the rust associated with my area.
to give you an idea, we may get 12inch/30cm of snow in a single day, with temps 14°f/-10°c and they keep it clear enough with a plow but it’s messy, and when the snow stops, the roads are as clear as summer. They use INSANE salt. 2016 Chevy trucks are already at auction with fist size holes in the body and announcement for rotted frame. Crazy. my old 2002 es300 was spotless underneath except for a few brackets, they use better steel at Toyota. But still, an LS like this would be trouble if from here. Have a look how clean it is underneath!
Nice color for sure. Appears dinged up and the interior can use a full detail. Amazon has OEM replacement floor mats reasonably priced. Junk yards may have a replacement grille but has to be an ‘04-06 as the prior year ones won’t fit. If they have the black instead of the gray all the better.
As for the wheels, lot of options but chrome versions look good with that color. Of course, once you do all that the car will sell quickly reducing your time with the car 😀.
You two hit the nail on the head lol I’m sure it will take a lot for me to let this girl go. But, can’t keep them all! I’ll update as soon as I have something to share
I drove the Crown Majesta all day yesterday for running around and I have to say this drives substantially nicer (sad to admit) what an AMAZING car. Clearly owned by someone who respected and cherished it.
Got to deal with those wheels ASAP, and touch up some chips under the bumper, and we have a showstopper. I am hesitant to list this for sale. Do you all have an idea of what a clean one of these, 06 151,000 is worth?
The O N L Y reason I am ok parting with this car is because I know that in 2029 I will have unlimited access to units with 50,000 miles for reasonable money (and RHD)
I would check current market pricing to see what it is worth. I like the common ebay, auto trader, cargurus, and cars.com. I think based on those sites there are plenty available under $10K with most prices in the $7-8K range with that mileage or less.
It will take some serious consideration. I paid Substantially for it because I had to have it. It can’t be a keeper.
so does anybody know if there is a paint code for the grill and wheels? I can fix that grill, no problem, but I want to keep it the same color. Worst case, I will use phantom gray pearl I have left over from a 2005 Toyota Avalon. The color is similar and it will look good. As for the wheels, if there is not a paint code for them, I think I am going to go my own direction a little bit and do like 2010 Camry silver. They are fairly well hammered; I feel like I am going to break the bead, put spacers between the tire and the rim, and refinish the entire face and around the lip. Because it has a full size spare, I can do one at a time over the next few weeks

I would recommend pulling all 4 wheels and take them to a shop that will restore them and Powder Coat them. They'll look new AND they'll all match. Plus you won't have to hunt for the correct color..
