2005 Lexus LS430 Door Lock Actuator question!
First time posting a thread
My question is that i have a Lexus Ls430 Soft Close model.
My Front Driver door lock actuator went bad.
This is the soft closing mode, my question is that is it possible to swap to the non Soft Close door lock actuator? So the regular non soft close model lock actuator
I would buy the part used and its like half the price, i dont really care about soft close. I just want to save some money
Thanks youuu so much for the help

So I took out the unit and glued it back together. I used little bits of fine fabric and super glue. I glued every crack, forcing the edges back together where I could, then soaked the fabric pieces with super glue and applied them to the surface wherever I could to cover the cracks and give the joints added stability. Where the piece was broken completely in two by the force of the spring, I had to hold the glue joint tight with my fingers for five minutes before it was strong enough to hold (wouldn't have been easy to get a clamp on it).
I let it cure two days. While I used very little glue in the joints I could compress, the glue over the fabric was pretty thick for superglue, so I gave it extra time. I reinstalled it and it worked. It's held for five and a half months now. I'm careful not to slam that door though. 😄
I'm going to try attaching a pair of photos. Anywhere you can see fabric is part of that single, complicated plastic piece that exploded. In places where the part is snug against a non-moving metal surface, I extended the fabric to let the strength of the metal help keep it stable. Looks ridiculous, but it cost me a bit of superglue, a bit of lining material from my wife's sewing box, and the time it took to mess with it, and it actually worked.
on ebay the non soft closing is only 170 dollars and the soft closing is 500+ dollars
Thank you again!!!!!!!
