I understand that our LS430s do not handle like BMWs. They are large comfortable cars that do not have overly precise steering as a Sports Car or many European cars do. The front toe specs for my 2001 LS430 with 17s are in the range of -0.05°0.15° for right and left wheels. All my previous alignments during my 10 year ownership had the front positive toe set at approximately 0.05° on both front sides. My steering was not extremely precise and had some wandering but not excessive. FYI...All suspension parts have no play and/or have been replaced. My most recent alignment (after purchasing 4 Michelin Primacy MXM4s) had the positive toe set close to the max range at 0.13° for the front left and 0.15° for the front right. (Camber was -0.1° front left and 0.1° front right) I immediately noticed how precise the steering felt.... no wandering at all and very direct to even the slightest steering movement. It felt like an entirely different car. Now for the down side....I noticed the outer tire edges were becoming uneven almost immediately. I understand that this much positive toe was causing the tires to feather.. I don't want to prematurely wear my tires so I have notified my shop to readjust the front toe. The owner warned me to be prepared for increased steering wandering. Question.... What Positive Toe would be preferable to keep my wandering to a minimum and still have better steering feel than I had when adjusted at .05° for both front wheels? What are the toe specs for the rear wheels before and after? Depending on the spec they help to keep the car in a straight line.

 

Rear Toe: Before: left rear 0.22° After 0.19° Right rear: Before: 0.20° After 0.23° There was not much of a change on the rear toe specs.
