Default LS430 Stretching Gear Shift After Repairs.

Hey all,

Wanted your expert opinion, I've already gone through 25+ posts regarding transmission issues in LS430 2005, however haven't been able to find a fix for it.

So, my problem begins with a seal leak in transmission. Seal was located where transmission connects to the engine in front. New seal was installed along with a full transmission pan removal, cleanup and refill using WS transmission oil, approx 4 ltr. Throttle body was not removed during the repair.

Now the problem begins the moment i take my car out of the garage, check engine light and VSC light comes in, gear is still shifting at higher RPM than usual, between 3000 and 2000, feels like car is confused about shifting gears. Not much jerking, but it feels like km dragging extra weight in the back.

I've already checked fluid levels, seem to be correct. I've checked the codes using OBD , which tells me 2 O2 sensors are malfunctioning.

I tried resetting ECT using techstream, in case car needs to relearn shifting patterns, but unfortunately it won't allow me to reset ss the message states the function is not available for this car.

I've already checked my calibration software, and its the latest one which corrected the issue of wrong shifting.

AWaiting your input.

I recommend using OTC GTS to relearn transmission values and resoldering ECM transmission module to begin with. Good luck!

It may have some transmission codes as well that your scanner cannot read.

did you follow the very specific transmission filling / level checking routine?
did you use Toyota WS fluid?

***UPDATE***

Alright, so after extensive research on the forums and various other websites, I've finally found the cause.

In GCC, mechanics don't really care about following specific procedures when it comes to cars like LS430, which it seems, has a very specific transmission drain and fill procedure.

At first I thought transmission was under-filled, but I was wrong, it was OVER-FILLED.

Following specific instructions posted on the forums on how to check fluid levels for sealed transmission, I drained almost 1-2 litres of excess fluid through the overfill plug (after r.

Furthermore, they did not use the TOYOTA ATF WS fluid. I'm planning to do a drain and refill soon.
