Hi all
First I would like to thank all of you that provide excellent info on here as I have learned a lot and was able to do things that I probably wouldn’t.
my problem is
both of my door mirrors are hazy and it is very hard to see out of them. I was looking for replacements but they are pretty expensive Does anyone know if any other model’s mirror would work? Like maybe a gs430 or any other model. I tried searching but I couldn’t find anything All I need is the mirror itself
Silly question, but have you tried cleaning them with a quality glass cleaning product? Assuming the answer to that is a yes, have you tried polishing the glass of the mirrors? I would recommend White Diamond Metal Polish (it works great on glass, too) as that could remedy the haze for a much lower price than even used mirrors.
Thanks for the suggestions but yes I have. I was told that there is something built in the mirror for the auto dim and that is what went bad. Sorry if I didn’t explain it clearly.
Hmm. I'm not knowledgeable about the wiring diagram of the mirrors and their electrochromatic function, but from what I understand, all 3 mirrors rely on the sensor in the interior mirror.
More silly questions: Does the interior mirror function as intended? Does turning the auto dim function off have any effect? Have you tried unplugging either door mirror or the interior mirror to see if anything changes?
In the meantime, I'll see if I can dig up a wiring diagram for the mirrors.
I press the button on the inside rear view mirror and it does not change anything on the door mirrors. I just wanted to know if other model Lexus mirrors will work as I’ve seen the gs and es models are much cheaper than the LS
