Default Gas to Electric convertion.

Was recently thinking, has this ever been done or likely?
Not sure where the batteries would go.
I love my LS petrol power but if for whatever reason petrol was unavailable I would still want to drive my car.

If we ever reach a point where petrol becomes unavailable, you might not want to be out driving your car...

Agreed, I'm really just curious to know anyone has ever done a conversation.

Unlikely that anyone has already done it, but no reason why it couldn't be done if someone had enough time and money.
The LS is a heavy behemoth and for electric conversions most people want light cars.
You could mount the electric motor where the transmission sits and use the entire engine bay for batteries.

Remove the tank, engine, trans, driveline and the car is 3000lb if not less. It's a very light car by modern standards

I believe a couple of companies have made conversions for Land Cruisers that are used in mining. https://www.millertechnology.com/toy...iser-electric/ Probably would not be too hard to adapt to LS

That is interesting. I wonder what the implications would be regarding the original electrical system of the LS when the original driveline electrical components were removed ? Could pose some head scratching making everything work ! cruise control, etc, etc,etc .......!

Oh it's insanely easy compared to making a mechanical device slaved to a computer, just directly input what it wants and a computer can control the motor current to match exactly and instantly

Default Electric Conversion

While I dearly love my LS, the chassis is not the best choice for conversion. Anything is possible with enough time and money.
Far simpler choices abound for DIY.

Yeah, I hate electric cars anyway but I was just saying it's light when stripped
