Default LS430 P1349 OCV issue

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 2000 model ls430. it has a check engine light on and check vsc light on (p1349 and p1346)
it runs terribly. Starts and idles ok (slight miss) but when you stab the throttle it bogs down and shudders. As soon as you go to drive, it will hardly move. Takes ages to get up to speed. Im curious if the OCV will be causing that or if my problems lie elsewhere. Thanks.

My OCV caused mine to run really rough, but mainly at idle. Replacing it instantly restored proper running.

1346 is variable valve timing sensor bank 1

Did the previous owner keep up with oil changes?

What oil and oil filter now?

You quoted me, but I think you meant to quote the OP?

But I'll answer anyway - Yes, the oil changes were always done on time and with the Lexus recommended oil. These OCV/VVT mechanisms fail over time, even with proper maintenance and they are easy to replce.

I had the same code. I bought a pair of new valves on eBay for $22 and have had zero problems with them for over a year now.
