that's happened a couple times where people got a couple bad ones in a row. I apologize for the inconvienance I'm right now working on a device to test them ahead of time so this will stop happening. It's very frustrating and time consuming for me every time it happens.
There's no way to test them at this time without having every model of car present which is is not a possibility because of space.
But, Like I was saying, I will have this figured out soon as this last round has really frustrated me.
Only other alternatives are to stop offering supplied ecu's or recap every ecu which drives up the price by about 300$ per ecu.

Can we request a recap service when we order? The ones I have gotten from you guys have been all good so far but it would be nice to know they have been fully gone through....

I've had an issue of the car lurching forward at 10 to 15 miles an hour in first or second under very very light throttle with the quantum/all4swap ECU. Is it also due to to this issue? I remember reading somewhere that SIA just reflowed the boards with hot air as the shifting issues were due to cold joints. Is this a different problem from that?
Having the ECU in the engine bay probably isn't the best place huh....

Full size GM instrument clusters do the same thing, they have large surface mount resistors that break solder joints just like the LS ECU's. I think it's the heat from the resistor that causes the problem and not the ambient heat.
I sent mine to quantum auto, hes been pretty communicative so far. I asked enough questions for us to both decide it was better to send in my original ecu so there isn't any compatibility issues. My LS is a 04 UL with 6 spd, the extra goodies the UL has would have been out of whack with one of theirs. On another note, I had my ecu repaired by SIA electronics for the shift problem and I didn't wanna lose that repair. I'll report back when I get it
[QUOTE=02Legend;10936112]I ordered an ECU from Quantum-Auto a couple of weeks ago and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Not sure exactly when I will put it in just yet.[/QUOT]
Ay bro what does it mean for the ect power on, snow, like the tune will be activated w ect power on if I choose that ?

Basically, yes. You can have it setup to where as if you push PWR that it will utilize the parameters you had changed. I still have yet to install mine though, life and work keep getting in the way.
I received my new ECU yesterday and installed it this morning. Note that key reprogramming is required, and you need the master key (not valet) to do this. Below are some instructions I found from another thread (source)
Instead of the SST, you can simply use a paperclip or wire to connect the two pins. Overall, it's fairly straightforward and you should see all the lights flashing. Another note about installation, be careful removing the 4 screws holding the original ECU, it's very easy to strip the heads on these.
I'm fairly impressed driving with the new ECU. I mostly drive in ECT PWR, and that's when you can notice the most difference. The throttle response is almost instantaneous, it reminds me of Sport mode in newer Lexus vehicles. Gears are definitely held for longer. I opted to have my rev limit increased to 7500, but did not test this out yet. Something odd I noticed was when driving in manual mode, it does not downshift into second gear (nothing happens). I'm not sure if that is normal. After I installed the new ECU, the CEL turned on and I had a DTC for P1765. I had no DTCs prior to installing the new ECU, but maybe this is a coincidence. Everything seems to shift fine except for second gear. I will likely try my original ECU and see if I have the same DTC.
Turnaround time and communication for quantum-auto was fairly good as well. I ordered a new ECU instead of sending mine in, and it took 9 days from order placed to delivered. If I can get that DTC resolved, I can probably take this to the dyno and test it.
Incertsinly wouldn't be messing with the stock rev limiter unless the engine is adequately built to withstand higher rpms...and how many guys with built LS430s do you know?! 3uzfe swaps seem to be popular in some commonwealth countries and Eastern Europe, those guys are pushing the 3uzs pretty hard on the track...our engines were utilized by Toyota race cars afterall! Sounds like something i'd get in trouble with though...this car seems to like the number "7"...i'll let 7 be my ceiling.
I have it as well, going to the track next week t see if it improved the times. I've already observed a full second improvement 0-60 for my car that puts it below factory new spec. Compensates for 215k miles of wear and then some nicely
did you just get a remap tune or do you have any other bolt on??
I just sent my ecu for a remap tune but I also bought ppe headers and a intake and I already have a straight pipe true dual exhaust also going to be getting rid of my other 2 cats
