I have the same issue in mine and I was under the impression that the grill cover is not removable/clip on like the subwoofer cover... please let me know if I am wrong.
Alternatively, you can try to color match and buy some generic "speaker cover mesh fabric" on amazon/ebay and DIY it... or take it to an upholstery shop.

I think you are right. I think the speaker frame has some tabs that are melted in place on the door panel base. If you are able to cut the little melted portion off, you can then replace or re-stretch and glue the fabric on the frames and then hot glue or remelt the tabs to the door panel...might take a look soon.
