Question Headlight level issue when bulb changed

Hi Guys,
let me share with you my issue. I will describe the steps I did:
1. I want to change High beam bulb...
2. I disconnected headlight level motor + disconnect the bulb (high beam)
3. I decided to change both left and right hi beam bulbs so I started to disconnect right side (where are fuses - view from the front of the car)
4. when replaced I started to check if the bulb lights (but I fortget to connect left side connectors) - so I put the key and not start the motor but start the checks -> HERE I SAW the error for the first time
5. I connect left side all connectors and check again if tests pass -> no chance, even I tried to start the car and let the ligts to be auto but I found out that even daily lights no lighting (the T10 W5W bulbs)

I tried to double check all connectors to the motors...all strongly connected.
Do you have any idea how to continue?

Thank you
marek

You mentioned a "level motor", so I will assume that you have a 2004-2006 LS430.

You may have accidentally blown the fuse that powers the Hi-beam lights. Please take a look in the square fuse box on the right-side (view from front) in your engine bay and look for a 20A fuse called "H-LP HI".

Hi,
thank you I will have a look. To be more clear I have some additional inputs (after some time):
- LS is 2001 model but I am sure the FUSE box is the same
- my misunderstanding how the lights works in this car gave you not complete information = when I switch the lights from AUTO to manual and move to 1st position, the parking lights start to light; when I return back to AUTO, start the car and release Brake, give R and than back N the daily lights starts
- what remains now is the headlight levelling and here I will check the fuse because when I ask my wife to help to start the car and I have checked if headlights move during check nothing happen...

I will keep you informed
Thank you
marek

Hi the FUSE is OK, but I have find out that right headlight is lighting more lower than the left one (from driver seat view). I suspect that this leveling motor could be damaged.

Is there any way how to measure it (the motor or the wires for example)?

Or does exist any possibility to get wiring diagrams?

Thank you.
Marek

Perhaps you should consider adjusting the headlight aim first (see procedures below). Report back if that does not address the headlight level issue, and I will help you dig up some wiring diagrams for the headlight level motors.

HI @rkw77080
I have news. You will not believe that. The car was crashed in some time in the past (I don't know if in US or in CZ) but I find out that some connectors (to bulbs for example) are corrupted.

And when I have changed the high beam bulb I have disconnected also leveling motor but I didn't realize that the connector was damaged from below (plastic broken). So I have disassemble the parts around (get another motor) and tried to connect to another motor. When connecting I found that one wire is weak and disconnected -> so I repair it and now leveling is working perfectly.

New issue arise -> I have checked also sensor of Airbag and it start to scream (including VSC) that something wrong. So I have to disassemble again and check what is wrong with airbag sensor .

Nevertheless thank you for your help and advises.

Regards,
marek
