so search brings up a lot of questions about wood & color combos. but what i was wondering was the headliner and pillar trim colors.
how many options were there? more specifically, were there different shades of grey? i purchased a driver's side b pillar trim and the ebay seller said it was grey. but after i installed it, i realized it's lighter than my grey currently in the car. i have an 05 with black leather seats.
i just don't want to purchase another b-pillar and end up in the same situation.

The plastic trim Lexus used should should be the same for each same leather. Black leather could be Standard or Aniline, even if it's perforated; but Aniline was only an option on the Ultra Luxury or Custom Luxury packages (& was a required option).
Not certain whether Lexus used a different trim color for a different type of black leather. (But, would Lexus...?) Is the "gray" plastic trim for black interior a different color than the "gray" plastic trim for ash interior...?

Take a look at the data tag down low between the doors on the driver side. Toward the lower left corner you will see "C/TR" followed by 2 alpha-numeric combinations. The first denotes the exterior color. The second is the interior trim color. With the latter, it's easy to determine your interior color.
I compiled a database of the different types of leather, woodtrims & paint colors by year & thought some other people out there on the internets (sic) might find it useful as well. So here it is.

Make sure you match the year to the paint, leather, woodtrim, & option packages to determine exactly what kind of leather it is.
e.g. Black leather could be Standard or Aniline, even if it's perforated; but Aniline was only an option on the Ultra Luxury or Custom Luxury packages (& was a required option).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- e.g. Ecru was available as a Standard Leather as well as a Luxury Nappa Leather from 2001-2003. The easy way to tell them apart is the wood trim. Nappa Ecru in a 2001-2003 will have an Ecru colored Maple woodtrim.
In 2004-2006 Ecru was only available as a Luxury Nappa Leather, & has the natural Maple Woodtrim.
So a 2003 and 2004 that both have Ecru interior and both have the natural Maple Woodtrim will have different Leathers. 2003 will have standard & 2004 will have Nappa.

thanks for that info. i will check the color code. the part i purchased was a b pillar trim (where the seat belt goes through) from a wrecked LS430. i'm not looking for the leather trim, but the grey (i think) suede on the headliner and top of the b pillar trim.
i took a picture of another one i found on ebay (despite it being the wrong side) which looks like it matches mine. but there was someone else i was going to buy his b pillar. it was out of a silver 04 with black interior. but even this one looks lighter than the one i found on ebay.
