Default Is the Problem the Amplifier ?

I have a bad feeling that no matter how you slice this thing It's going to cost me a lot of money. A while back when I turned the radio on it took 2 to 5 minutes to go on. This continued for a long time. Then one day the radio started as soon as I pushed be button it went on and stayed that way for months. Now again it's back to taking an even longer time to go on after the radio was pressed on. I looked for any dampness in the trunk inner linings and there was none. I don't know where the 2 sets of fuses are but I'm told that a bad amplifier causes some fuses to burnout. I was told a long time ago that my woofer and speakers had to be replaced but they seemed to work fine for my needs so I left them in. I have a 2004 LS430. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on and the best way to fix it. Thanks to all.

When it takes 2-5 mins to turn on does it play music after that? If it does play music I would think your infotainment system is acting up, also do you park your car in the sun? Reason I ask is when I got my car 2 years ago I always parked in the sun until my door actuators died, you can always take a look behind the radio I did and I found a random aftermarket box that was spliced into my radio wires from the past owners I removed it. good luck

Don't you think I did try to research it but could not get the answer. That is why people bring their questions to this forum- Duh ! I really don't care what you like or don't like. I'm pretty open minded I just don't stupid from wherever it comes.

For; BSAVAGE - Thank you for your Normal response to my honest question. In all my years of dealing with various Forums I never thought I would be thanking some one for simply answering a question that was asked but I guess we have crazy people out there, whatever. As per your response, Yes I do park in the hot Florida sun all the time and a year ago I had to replace my actuator also although I don't know what that has to do with my radio problem. I bought the car when it was two years old and I don't think there is any after market piece attached to the radio but I guess some where along the line I'm going to find out. If you should think of anything else let me know. Thanks again for your response.
