2001 ultra, 234k km no start
car started with momentary hesitation, then dash warning light for VSC came on. Pushed the button on the console - no change. Pushed button again VSC warning light went out after a few hundred yards.
Went to the grocery store and parked. Then when trying to start the car - nothing. No starter sound. Dash lit up, interior lights working, headlights working, radio working. This indicates to me battery is ok.All terminals clean and secure
Any suggestions?
First thing would be to get battery tested. (Unless you have already done it) Even if you have to take it out and drive to local store for the battery test with another car. This is my recommendation from the personal experience.
Take all the precautions with Corona Virus.
My gs300 has the same issue once in a wile and its the starter engine for sure. Take a hammer and hit it a few times. That should do the trick for now but it needs to be fixed. I think there are copper brushes inside them which are to old.
Problem solved Here is what the mechanic found
Batteryterminals loose, battery at very low charge, incorrect/erratic signal on ground circuit, no ground at park switch, engine ground strap corroded and torn. Took 3.75 hrs to correct all problems
Now it runs again like a swiss clock
thanks for the suggestions
