Default Windshield wiper switch

Hi,

Can't find the answer anywhere:
To replace that switch assembly does the steering wheel needs to be removed?
Any special procedure, suggestions?
2002 LS430

Thank you,

By the looks of it you should not have to. My rule is always plan to just in case. It has been a while since I've had my column cover off tho. If I remember correctly, it would be one plug and a couple screws and it should lift up and out. Make sure you have wheel tilted down and negative terminal disconnected. Don't hold me to those exact instructions, I'm trying to go off memory when I was working on my telescopic motor and looking at the way it was put together in there.
